    # THE SHARED WALL
    ## Episode 4: “A VERY LOCAL CELEBRITY”
    ### INT. NISHA’S APARTMENT - MORNING
A single DRIP lands in a coffee mug.
NISHA RAO looks up. Another drip lands directly on her forehead.
    NISHA
    That’s not coffee.
The ceiling suddenly SPRAYS. Nisha grabs a mixing bowl and slides it underneath.
    Through the paper-thin wall:
    MARCUS (O.S.)
    Did something explode?
    TESSA (O.S.)
If it did, it’s above Nisha. So technically, not our problem.
A third voice—OWEN—shouts from the hallway.
    OWEN (O.S.)
    Water is everyone’s problem!
Nisha opens her door. Marcus and Tessa emerge from their apartments carrying buckets, pots, and one suspiciously large salad bowl.
    ### INT. SHARED HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS
Water drips through the ceiling in three separate places.
Tessa holds up her phone, filming.
    TESSA
For the record, this is not a crisis. It’s a localized atmospheric event.
    MARCUS
There is water coming through the light fixture.
    The light FLICKERS.
    MARCUS (CONT’D)
Okay. A dangerous localized atmospheric event.
Owen arrives wearing a bicycle helmet and carrying a wrench.
    OWEN
    I’m ready to investigate.
    NISHA
    You’re wearing a helmet.
    OWEN
Water causes slippery floors. Slippery floors cause falling. Falling causes paperwork.
    Marcus points upward.
    MARCUS
The leak is coming from the apartment above.
    TESSA
    Then we knock.
They all stare at the ceiling.
    NISHA
The upstairs apartment has been empty for six months.
A huge GUSH hits the floor.
    OWEN
    Not empty enough.
    ### INT. UPSTAIRS APARTMENT - MOMENTS LATER
The neighbors creep inside. The apartment is mostly bare—except for a CHILDREN’S KIDDIE POOL in the center of the room, overflowing with water.
Inside the pool: an office chair, laptop stand, printer, and a handwritten sign:
“OWEN’S TEMPORARY REMOTE OFFICE — DO NOT DISTURB.”
    Everyone slowly turns to Owen.
    OWEN
    I can explain.
    TESSA
You used an inflatable pool as an office?
    OWEN
    It was a productivity experiment.
    MARCUS
    Why is it full?
Owen points to a garden hose snaking through the window.
    OWEN
    I needed white noise.
    NISHA
    You left the hose running?
    OWEN
    I was in a meeting.
    TESSA
    For six months?
    OWEN
It was a very long meeting.
The pool gives way with a wet POP. Water rushes across the floor.
    ### INT. SHARED HALLWAY - LATER
The four neighbors form a frantic bucket brigade. Water travels from upstairs, down through Nisha’s ceiling, into Marcus’s apartment, and out beneath Tessa’s door.
    MARCUS
    Pass the bucket!
    NISHA
    Which bucket?
    TESSA
    The blue one!
    OWEN
    There are four blue ones!
    TESSA
    The emotionally blue one!
A bucket lands in Owen’s hands. He looks into camera.
    OWEN
I’m not proud of the office. But I did get promoted during it.
    The ceiling GROANS.
    Everyone freezes.
    NISHA
    Owen.
    OWEN
    Yes?
    NISHA
    Your promotion is leaking.
They resume the brigade as water splashes everywhere.
    TESSA
You know, this is exactly why we need building-wide communication.
    MARCUS
    We have a group chat.
    NISHA
    You muted it.
    MARCUS
    It was mostly soup photos.
Tessa’s phone DINGS. She checks it.
    TESSA
New message from the landlord: “Please stop throwing water into the courtyard.”
    They all look down.
Below, a final stream pours out the window.
    OWEN
Good news. The leak has been reported.
    NISHA
    By whom?
    OWEN
    The courtyard.
The four neighbors stare at the camera as another DRIP lands in Tessa’s coffee.
    TESSA
    That’s still not coffee.
    CUT TO BLACK.
